Top Jobs Like Uber

Today we will be reviewing 10 jobs that are like Uber.  By now we have all heard of Uber. For many of us, we were drawn to the concept due to its amazing flexibility. At the time that they came out, you could rarely find an opportunity to make money and work anytime you want. Now times have changed and we are seeing more and more work anytime you want apps like Uber popping up everywhere. So I decided to put together a list of the best work anytime Uber-like apps and jobs out now. Don't miss out on Living Cheaply's complete review of these jobs! You want to know what we uncovered.

Are driving jobs are not for you? You may want to check out some of our top recommended online side jobs to make extra cash below.

Lyft Program

Our first app actually is Ubers biggest competition in the US. Lyft allows you to work anytime you want with no minimum hours expected. Lyft's app looks and works very similarly to Uber.  Customers request rides via their app. Divers use the same app only they use it in driver mode. When customers make a request for rides it will pop up on your screen. Drivers have 15 seconds to accept or it skips you and gives the next driver a chance to take the job.  If you managed to accept the ride you will use the integrated navigation on the Lyft app to make your way to the customer. When you arrive you will hit a button to let the customer know you are there.

If you are hired you will get paid on a  per minute and mile basis.  You can manually withdraw your payments instantly with Express Pay at any time if you choose. Otherwise, you will be paid each week with Express Pay automatically.

Why Lyft is Ubers stiffest competition in the United States.

Their app also allows its customers to track their ride as well as their driver's details. One way that they try to outdo Uber is with their response time. Zebra Magazine conducted a study on the two giants of the industry and discovered something rather interesting. The average waiting time on Lyft was around 6 seconds less than Ubers. I also found another interesting feature with Lyft Plus. It allows you to share a ride with 6 other people. But, my favorite feature of the app is called Prime Time. During this time you will earn a bonus rate depending on the supply and depend at the time. But you can see bonus rates of  75% per ride during Prime Time.

One of Lyft 's goals is to make their app safer than say their number one competitor. From a drivers standpoint, this really isn't a good thing. Since the way they try to ensure they do so is by having strict requirements for drivers.

Requirements

  • You will be required to have a valid driver's license.
  • Drivers diving records will be pulled and checked. So you will have to have a clean driving record.
  • You will have to be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have an iPhone or Android phone.
  • Pass a national and county background check.
  • Your car must have at least five total seat belts.
  • Your car also must have at least four external door handles.

If this job is not available in your area now don't give up hope just yet. Lyft already has a presence in over 60 crucial cities all over the US and more expected soon.

UberEats Program

Our next app, we will not be straying too far away from where we began. UberEats is simply an on-demand food delivery service by the same company that gave us on-demand cab service. Instead of picking up passengers and dropping them off.

You will be picking up food and dropping that off instead.  And you still get the benefit of making your own schedule!  For this position, you can use your car, bike or even scooter in some locations. When you are hired on for UberEats you are hired as what they call a delivery partner or an independent contractor. All your customers will be using the UberEats app to make their orders. So you do not have to deal with taking orders.

Requirements

  • You are required to be a least 21 years of age.
  • Have a valid drivers license.
  • Drivers must own a 2000 or newer Vehicle.
  • Your vehicle must be at least 4 doors or larger.
  • Have a vehicle that does not have a salvaged title.

Wingz Program

This app is very much like Uber. Only has the name implies Wingz mainly does rides that have to deal with airports. Take passengers to and from the airport as needed. That being said they now offer rides anywhere, but the ride has to be pre-scheduled. They added this feature mainly to support large events like concerts or huge sporting events. One feature that I love about Wingz is their Senior Rides feature which gives you a chance to take care of your local elderly and make sure they are treated right. Which I would recommend no matter who you are driving for even if it's not for seniors. Not only is it just the right thing to do. It also means you establish a great relationship with repeat customers.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass an online orientation and knowledge test In-person.
  • Drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must have at least a 4 door vehicle or larger.
  • Your vehicle must be no more than 5 years old.
  • Drivers vehicle must be in excellent condition.
  • An iPhone or Android device is required.
  • Drivers must be able to pass a background check.
  • All Wingz drivers must have a clean driving record.

For Wingz, they have higher requirements for their drivers and their cars than other Uber-like Jobs. But that also means if you do manage to meet their criteria you should have less competition than with others. Also because you are doing things like Airport and even rides you should get receive higher fares and get the change to meet a lot of interesting people.

GrubHub Delivery Program

This app is actually quite similar to UberEats only this one is from another company. With this one customer will order their food via the GrubHub app. If you are one of their delivery drivers you will be alerted when these orders are placed also via the GrubHub app. You will then deliver food that has been ordered from whichever restaurant the customer ordered from. This one does not come with the same flexibility that UberEats has. You must sign up for shifts rather than delivery at any moment you decide. That said if a shift comes open you can take it anytime you wish.

Amazon Flex Program

You will not find many programs like Amazon flex. With this job, you will become an independent delivery contractor with Amazon. With the aid of your mobile device, you will turn your vehicle into an Amazon delivery mobile. Still, it is important you realize you do not work for Amazon directly with this position. You will have to take on the burden of doing things such as using your vehicle when delivering packages. In order to be able to also have the freedom to work when you want.

The way Amazon pays its drivers is by delivery block. So if you have a larger vehicle say a van or SUV you may get more packages and receive a longer route. They pay $18 to $25 dollars an hour. But during peak hours they offer a bonus rate. Amazon sends out a notification message to let you know when the rates have increased.  Also, you may end up receiving a tip on top of your hourly earnings. When customers order from Prime Now, AmazonFresh, and Amazon Restaurants they are asked if they would tip their driver. You can keep an eye on your earnings via the Amazon Flex app.  You should receive your payment on either Tuesday and Friday by direct deposit. If you received any tips you have to wait 1-2 days after that delivery.  It is important to remember you will not be reimbursed for your mileage since you an independent contractor.

Requirements

  • Drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must have at least a 4 door or large vehicle.
  • An iPhone or Android device is required.
  • Drivers must be able to pass a background check.
  • All Amazon Flex drivers must have a clean driving record.

If Amazon Flex is not available in your area much like with Lyft that may not be for long. Amazon Flex already has a presence in over 30 cities all over the US and more expected soon.
