Review of Free Watch Websites - Legit Or Scam?

- April 28, 2017

Free Watch Review

This will be a review of  Free Watch Sites, which is a website that claims to give away FREE watches. Their watches are basically cheaply made knock off versions of the Daniel Wellington watches that have gained popularity in recent years. But are Free Watch Sites legit? Read Living Cheapy's complete review of these companies and decide for yourself.

What Are Free Watch Sites

These sites sell what they describe fashion forward accessories such as bracelets, sunglasses and of course watches. They also claim to ship their products anywhere in the world. So you can order from free watch sites no matter where you are from. However, it's important to remember even though they are sometimes headquartered in the United States their products are usually shipped from China

Are Free Watch Sites Legit Or A Scam?

Free Watch Sites are not actually a scam but I would describe them as conning their customers. They actually sell watches for the price of $0.00! However, this does not quite mean you will get your watch for FREE. Although the watch cost nothing they still charge you for shipping. The catch is their shipping fee. In the end, you will end up paying somewhere around $13.00 for your free watch after shipping. The price of shipping will of course vary depending on where you are from.

Important Note: If you are unsatisfied with your FREE watch you can not get your money back on your shipping. This seems reasonable at first but then when you consider they really add the price of the watch in with your shipping this seems a bit scammy to me.

How Do You Get Your Free Watch?

You can find ads for free watches near the bottom of the home page under "Most Popular Items".

The Alpha is a popular watch that these companies are known for. You may see it listed first along with a combination of a few of their other watches. They also list the same exact watches from anywhere from $20.00 to $30.00 bucks in other spots on their site. I believe this is because they want to give you the impression that you have stumbled on to an amazing deal when you see it offered to you for $0.00. What they are not telling you is these watches are very cheap watches that can be purchased from China for around $2.00 or $3.00 bucks with FREE shipping.

So in the end, after you pay for shipping, which in fact should be free. You are paying $10.00 or so more than what the watch is even worth. What a great deal this turned out to be right?

Free Watch Alternatives?

You may still want one of the watches that you find on these Free Watch Sites. I would suggest either find these watches on the Chinese sites like Ali Express or look for these watches on Amazon. I would suggest buying via Amazon.com which currently has the Alpha watch for $2.44 plus $1.99 shipping. That comes out to be $4.43 total after shipping. Saving me a total of $8.57 after shipping. Love or hate Amazon you can not deny they have top notch customer service. If something goes wrong with your order you do not have to worry about Amazon not standing by their products.

Free Watch Quality Complaints

The quality of these Daniel Wellington knock off watches are quite low. This of course what you should expect given the price point of under $5.00 on Amazon.  Not all of their watches are created equal. Some of their customers have little to no problems with their watches and are quite happy with their slick fashionable new watch. However many others complain about everything about the watch from the strap being glued on, to scratches on the face of the watch, and just an overall flimsy and cheap made a watch. If you're looking for something more than a slick looking accessory to wear from time to time you will probably not be very satisfied with these watches. The low-quality build makes them the furthest thing from the idea watch in regards to everyday use.

Scam Verdict

These Free Watch companies actually sell watches for $0.00. They will not steal your identity or credit card information. However. they will over charge you for shipping to the point you end up paying 3 or 4 times more the watch is worth.  I would not recommend these companies to someone looking for a cheap watch. I would instead direct them to Amazon where they can get the same watch for way less and have great customer service backing the product up.
